What you see with your eyes
Isn’t always there
They are hidden with a disguise
Instead of showing a care.
A smile shines brightly
Or so it might seem.
Everything is held inside tightly
Too afraid to step out and share a dream.
I refuse to be that way.
Hiding the real me.
I won’t go astray
I can’t have a mind of mediocrity.
My plans might make no since to you
But it’s ok because they are mine.
You don’t have to share my view.
My dreams aren’t your design.
I’ll work till I win
And dream till I die
I won’t and can’t give in
Till I reach the clouds in the sky
I’m going to the top
No matter the pain
I won’t give up and stop
Because through trials, strength I will gain
I won’t stop moving on
Even though I remember past mistakes
To the future I am drawn
So I will throw down old heartaches
So dare to dream.
And flinch not at the fight
What might seem to others an extreme
Is just an undiscovered height
Pursue your hearts desire
All the while holding God’s hand
With Him you will go higher
He will take you to the promise land.
