Let me be free
Take me away to that high plain
Where my soul can skip, dance
And play in enraptured ecstasy.
Let me roam in the moment
Where the past is a vague indistinct memory,
And the future is a pleasant hopeful mystery.
Protect me,
From cruelty, anger and foolishness
And let me explore the world in safety,
Learning where good and evil exist,
Even if it's in my own heart.
Hold me close,
While I seek out those new and wondrous
Unknown things that will make my life
Complete, fulfilled and joyous.
Stand behind me,
While I face the darkness that will temp
My innocence, corrupt my spirit and
Give me both fleeting pleasure and lasting pain.
Guide me, with patience, with hope and with faithfulness
Down my own path, at my own pace in pursuit Of my true self.
Give me time
To find the truth,
To accept defeat, to know victory
And to find a place of peace, comfort and certainty

To love whom I choose
To know my own heart,
To understand my nature and the nature
Of my universe and to return to you
