I grew up wandering through the ashes of different religions and one day I told God, I did not want anyone else telling me what truth was and I told God He would have to show me truth and He did. While working in Dallas, Texas I would listen to Endtime Ministries with Irvin Baxter. After moving to Garland, I was looking for a church home. There was a church down the street from my apartment and I passed it by several times wanting to go inside but did not attend because I did not see the “right” color of people there, how ignorant was that? One day I passed this church again and noticed something on the church bulletin board, the church was advertising Endtime Ministry videos on Tuesday night featuring Irvin Baxter, so I went in one Tuesday night and then started attending morning worship here and there. One Tuesday night while viewing one of the videos, Irvin Baxter was teaching on being born again and without really knowing the depths of his message, I began to question the gentleman that was showing the video and He assured me that the Holy Spirit really dwells inside of those that would accept truth. He invited me to attend Sunday morning worship where a guest speaker would be speaking on receiving the Holy Spirit, and so I attended along my daughter who was a year old at the time. I had my daughter on my hip and walked down to the pew near the front and sat down. The guest speaker spoke on receiving the free gift of the Holy Spirit and as he was speaking, I began to talk to God in my heart and I said, “Jesus I do not know who you are, and I do not care, I just want truth of who you are,” and while speaking these things, tears then flowed down my face. The guest speaker commissioned all those that wanted to receive the indwelling God’s Holy Spirit to come down to the front. I did not hesitate; I proceeded down along with my daughter on my hip toward the front. He continued to speak and said for those that wanted God’s Holy Spirit to lift their hands and say hallelujah and I did just that and before I could say hallelujah the second time, something amazing was taking place, I began to speak in an unknown tongue and I kept saying within myself, this is real, this is real, oh my God this is real. I tried on several occasions to switch my language back were I could understand and could not. From this time forward, I have been walking with God. I thank God for this wonderful truth. I encourage people to ask God for truth and He is faithful to lead His people into all truth.
